Reception classes have been busy looking out our natural environment focussing on the weather and plant growth. They have learned about the importance of nurturing the plants they have sown through regular care, attention and watering. We have seen how the weather impacts upon our lifestyles and environment.

The Pre School building was over run by insects of every size, shape and colour on 16th December when we celebrated the end of term with our Ugly Bug Ball. The children looked super dressed as butterflies, bees, spiders and caterpillars. Thank you for your efforts in providing some fantastic costumes.

A new post of Deputy Head has been created within the Early Years, effective from January 2010. I am sure you will want to congratulate Mrs Shonagh Al Barbary on her appointment to this post. She will be playing a leading role in the development of this section of the school.

Reception classes have begun to bring home reading books as part of the reading programme.
We encourage the children to be independent by returning folders daily and taking their own books from the folder and replacing them. Please do feel free to comment and sign the blue reading record when your child has read at home. Currently most children are bringing home wordless texts as an introduction to the reading schemes used in school.
