The aims of the geography syllabus are:

1. To appreciate a sense of place with an understanding of local, regional, national and global scale.
2. To acquire an awareness of the characteristics, distribution and processes of a selection of contrasting human and physical environments
3. To analyse and interpret the spatial effects of the ways in which people interact with differing environments and situations
4. To form an understanding of different communities and cultures throughout the world with an awareness of contrasting opportunities and constraints presented by different environments.

As a department we offer a variety of practical field trips throughout the year, both within Qatar and abroad. Recent international trips have included Spain, Italy, France and Iceland.
